The green fruit beetle, Cotinis mutabilis, is also called the figeater beetle or western green June beetle.

The six-spotted tiger beetle is a bright metallic green predator commonly found in deciduous forests and nearby open areas.

Adults are about 1/2 inch long and may have from zero to eight white spots along the outer edges of the wing covers, despite the common name “six-spotted.”
